NHL News: Fans unleash fury after national anthem performance

The Los Angeles Kings held the Edmonton Oilers in their first Stanley Cup playoff game on Monday, with pre-game performances becoming the topic of conversation.

Members of the Korean Town Senior & Community Centre performed “Star Spangled Banner” before a pack drop at crypto.com arena. The group used harmonica instead of singing the American national anthem.

The majority of the crowd attended appeared to approve the production as thousands of people stood to praise the performers.

However, some observers expressed discomfort on social media.

“Anyone who thinks this is a good idea should probably have a job,” X-user wrote.

Once the game began, it was a fierce battle contest.

The Oilers tied the game late in the third season, but the Kings celebrated their 6-5 victory in Game 1. Los Angeles also won Game 2.
