Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) on MSNBC on Thursday claimed Democrats were in a “national battle” against the “destruction of democracy.”
“This is a national battle and Republicans believe they can escape this burglar, this corruption, this democracy in hiding. There will be some really important votes in front of the Senate and home this summer. Republicans plan to vote for this bill.
He continued. “Republicans refuse to hold City Hall in their backyards, so they hope that their constituents won’t hear about the truth, so Maxwell and I hope to hold a town hall without Republicans this spring and this summer.
“We’re here in North Carolina because there are some swing votes in the Senate and House,” Murphy said.
