President Donald Trump’s Department of Transportation has replaced federal prosecutors who leaked damaging information about the administration’s plans to end the victims of the New York City crowds.
On Wednesday evening, Justice Department lawyers happened to have alleged – they filed a confidential memo in federal court that undermined the administration’s case.
“It’s sad to see the best legal organisations continue to fall into such disgrace.”
The 11-page letter dated April 11 was written by an attorney and addressed to Sean Duffy, informing the DOT secretary that he believes his case is “very likely.”
“We were unable to identify any compelling legal arguments to support this position,” they said. I wrote it.
Prosecutors recommended that Duffy form a stronger argument against the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. It filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration’s DOT in February to try to stop traffic tolls.
“As explained below, there is a considerable litigation risk in defending a ruling on a plaintiff’s claim under the Control Procedures Act on February 19, 2025. The attorney said the decision was law, pretext, procedural, argitrary and whimsical, and violated a legitimate process.
Prosecutors suggested that Duffy should use the administration and budgetary regulations office to argue that “it is a matter of changing agency priorities” that it is necessary to “end” the casualties of crowds. They also said the administration could argue that pricing is based on MTA funding level needs and does not aim to reduce traffic.
However, the lawyer concluded that both of these arguments are unlikely to persuade the court.
Nicholas Bias, spokesman for New York’s Southern District; It is listed Submitting a confidential memo is “a completely honest error and never intentional.”
However, Dot questioned whether the leak was intentional.
“Is the SDNY lawyer in this case incompetent or was this an attempt to resist? At least it’s legal misconduct,” said Halee Dobbins, a spokesman for the DOT.
“It’s sad to see the best legal organisations continue to fall into such stigma,” she said. “SDNY’s notes do not represent reality. [New York Governor] Kathy Hochul’s crowd-price war on the working class was quickly approved by the Biden administration after Donald Trump was elected. ”
“Taxpayers already have Hochul closed to the public to drivers and there is no free alternative. This is unprecedented illegal. If New York doesn’t close it, the Department of Transport is considering suspending the state’s projects and funding,” Dobbins added.
This point has replaced the lawyer with others in the civil division of DOJ.
