House Majority Whip Tom Emmer and other Republican Minnesota representatives are calling for an ethical investigation of Minnesota Democrat Angie Craig, who allegedly violated the House Rules, allegedly using her official office resources and staff for the purposes of the campaign.

“The House Ethics Rules clearly prohibit Congressional members from using official resources to promote political events. However, Rep. Angie Craig has promoted political ambitions by using taxpayer-funded Congressional offices to publish campaign-sponsored events and recruiting donations for political funding,” the representative wrote. “This misuse of public resources will erode trusts placed by Americans in elected officials and undermine the integrity of our institutions, so we are asking the House Ethics Committee and the House Trustees to thoroughly review Rep. “The Housing Ethics Rules are very clear and prohibit members from using taxpayer funds to promote political ambitions. Still, Angie Craig violated these rules and turned her back on her constituents by acquiring the Democrat’s failed agenda across the state,” Emmer told DCNF. “Thankfully, our members have seen this charade and rejected these ideas in a poll last November. If she is eager to run for the Senate, she should stop this nonsense, declare her intention to run, and stop using her official office to promote campaign events.”
“Minnesotans are paying attention. They are seeing corruption. They are seeing ambition. And this election cycle has the opportunity to retire Angie Craig, Peggy Flanagan and Tim Waltz completely,” Persash said. “The Minnesota GOP will continue to fight for transparency, accountability and leadership that actually puts our state first.”
