Bill Maher challenges Al Gore for comparing Trump administration to Nazis

“Real-Time” host Bill Maher challenged former vice president Al Gore for his recent comments comparing the Trump administration to the Nazis.

Earlier this week, Gore summoned “Adolf Hitler’s Third Reich” in a keynote speech at the Climate Week event in San Francisco, telling the crowd that despite reasons not to make such a comparison, “there is an important lesson from its urgent history of evil.”

“I think the Nazis are difficult words to use in nuance,” Maher told Gore in an interview Friday. “So when you say that, you know, I feel they are evil goats.” (Goat is the slang word for “the greatest ever.”)

“I agree, but look at what I actually said in that speech,” Gore replied. “There was a group of German philosophers who went back after the war and conducted a kind of moral autopsy. One of them said that the first step in the descent into hell in that case was to “convert all the questions of truth into matters of power.” They attack the distinction between true and false. ”

Gore continued. “And when we see and hear all the claims of complete inaccuracy that Ukraine is responsible for launching a war with Russia. Many of them expect us to believe it. The climate crisis is a hoax invented by China.

“But I’m the part of the country that voted for Trump, they hear the Nazis and say, “Oh, you call us Nazis?” “First of all, that’s just a false premise as bad as them. And it also says to them, ‘Well, you just hate us.’ And one thing I’ve learned in recent years is that what’s more powerful than money is when people hate you so much, and when they think you hate them so much, even money comes out the window. ”

“You can’t even break bread by just taking random example. We hate you so much. You’re lamentable. It’s not worth having dinner.”

Maher has spoken out with the disapproval of the Liberals comparing President Donald Trump and his supporters to the Nazis. On Thursday, he fired fellow comedian Larry David for satirizing Maher’s recent White House meeting with a New York Times production entitled “My Dinner and Adolf.”

“The moment you played Hitler Card, I think you lost the debate,” Maher told Piers Morgan. “And I have to say, you come, man, Hitler? Nazi? No one is more difficult than me, and no more visionary. You have to say more about Donald Trump than me. You don’t need to lecture about who Donald Trump is.

Maher continued. “But to use Hitler’s, first of all, I think it’s like insulting six million dead Jews, you know. Well, that’s kind of a lost argument you’ve lost to start it.”

“Hitler really had to stay in his place. He’s an evil goat and I think we need to keep it that way,” he added.
