President Donald Trump has launched his first call with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney by proposing the idea for a 51st state to his new leader, the prime minister confirmed this week.
The telephone conversation took place on March 28th as the US prepared to slap 25% tariffs on Canadian imports. The call was described by Trump at the time as “very productive” and Carney as “heartful” and “positive.”
Carney initially claimed during the chat that Trump “respects Canadian sovereignty,” but since then he fired fire after omitting details about Trump pushing forward his 51st national ambitions.
Trump used the call to promote the benefits of Great White North joining the US, according to two sources.
“Let’s agree to oppose that,” Carney replied.
This week’s Kearney downplayed the omission.
“The president always brings this. I told him, ‘It’s not going to happen.’ .
Meanwhile, the White House said on Friday that there was something to add to the post. Trump said true socially immediately after the call.
The president said this week on Wednesday.Canada will no longer exist” Without the United States and that he has no doubt not trolling on the 51st state claim.
Canadians showed up in record numbers in this week’s advanced poll ahead of Monday’s federal election. This is dominated by Trump, tariffs and tightening races, with Carney’s Liberal Party leading the conservatives five points.
