A gunman riding a city bike shot two people in the Bronx – running through the nausea of violence spreading across three boroughs, officers said.
The 32-year-old man was blown up on the torso on East 146th Avenue and Brook Avenue by two men on one city bike, officers said.
About 15 minutes later, a 35-year-old woman was shot in the leg and shots rang near Westchester Avenue and Third Avenue in Motthaven at around 9:20pm. Police were looking for two men on separate city bikes in the incident, police said.
It was not immediately clear whether the two cases were related or whether the victim intended to be the target, police said. Both were taken to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition.
Investigators were in the scene where they canvas for the video, officers said.
The man was then shot at W. 146th Avenue and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard in Harlem around 1:30am, officers said.
When police arrived at the scene they were told that 41 victims had already left. They found him injured in a stomach bullet at Harlem Hospital, police said.
The victims were stable early on Saturday. The motive was unknown.
Almost three hours later, the man was shot once in the back at Steinway Street and Astoria Boulevard in Astoria around 4am, Queens said. The 25-year-old was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.
The number of shooting cases has dropped from 217 to 178 so far this year, with shooting casualties falling from 256 to 209, down 18% compared to the same period last year.
