The White House celebrated First Lady Melania Trump’s 55th birthday with a series of photos that spotlight some of her time at the White House.
Catholic Melania and President Trump spent many of their birthdays in Rome on Saturday, attending Pope Francis’ funeral in Vatican City, then kissed each other and split up at Newark Airport later that day.
Neither Melania nor the president marked the opportunity on social media, but the White House spotlighted 20 photos of First Lady.
Photos highlighted by the White House include images of her at the Easter Egg Roll in the White House, touring the Egyptian pyramids, dancing with the president, arriving at Sigonella Air Base in Sicily, promoting her best initiative and flying to the Marines.
Throughout her time as First Lady, Melania has been extremely protective of her privacy and has maintained a limited public schedule.
Aside from attending major events such as the president’s speech to a joint session of Congress last month, the First Lady is using her bully pulpit to draw attention to what she feels is important.
Last month, for example, the First Lady made an unusual visit to Capitol Hill to defend bipartisan legislation fighting revenge porn.
Before her husband took over for his second term, she signed a whopping $40 million contract with Amazon to film a documentary about her life.
The documentary is scheduled to be directed by “Rush Hour” Auther Brett Ratner and features cameos from familiar figures such as the president and son Baron studying at New York University’s Stern School.
“She’s very familiar with what she says… Melania was able to speak more comfortably in front of people and on television,” a source previously told Page 6 of the contract.
“She’s more confident and has full control over her public image, knowing she’s worth millions, and she’s ready to be paid to put it in the document and reveal more about herself.”
First Lady is the executive producer of the project. This is largely seen as the way Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has worked to build a better relationship with her husband.
Homeland Security Secretary Christa Noem and small business manager Kelly Loeffler celebrated First Lady’s birthday on social media.
The president celebrated his birthday on June 14th, and the Trump administration is working on holding a huge hit parade to celebrate the establishment of the Army that will take place on the same day.
