Trump ‘Stood Up’ to China’s ‘Outrageously Unfair Trade Practices’

On NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Secretary of State Marco Rubio said President Donald Trump was the first president to stand up against China’s “outrageous, unfair trade practices.”

Host Kristen Welker said, “Secretary, let’s look at the trade war between China and the President. President Trump said he spoke directly to President Xi Jinping. Chinese officials have never discussed the trade war.

Rubio said, “Well, as in the previous answer, I’m not going to comment on who spoke about what, as this is a high interest negotiation. The basic fact is that for 30 years, the Chinese have been fleeing with unfair trade practices. They are increasingly restricted years.

He said, “They are allowed to escape with it, and in the end it’s almost too late, but in the end we have a president who will stand up to it. We are not the only ones who need to stand up to it. Europe is concerned that China has tried to throw it away in them. It’s late.”
