The German bestselling novelist was found dead on a houseboat in Hamburg on Tuesday morning. According to the Guardian, the body of Alexandra Frolich was found by the son of the Elbe River.
The author of “Death is Certainty,” authors have been shot, authorities confirmed. The incident was handed over to a murder investigator team after Ms Florich was confirmed to have died after being violently attacked.
She passed away from midnight until 5:30am, the report said.
Authorities said Guardian“According to current information, relatives have discovered that the 58-year-old woman is lifeless on her houseboat and warned the firefighters who could only confirm the woman’s death.”
Investigators are looking for witnesses who may have seen strange activities on the long Celis houseboat where Ms. Florich lived. Her houseboat was located in the eastern Moorfleet area of Holzafen Bank on the Elbe River.
A police spokesman also said investigators were looking for the possible suspect and whether Ms Florich knew the murderer. As the investigation is still underway, no further details relating to the incident have been shared.
Reports from the Guardian revealed that there was speculation that weapons used in the crime could have been thrown into the Elbe River, so divers were immediately sent to the crime scene.
Ms. Frolich began her journalist career in Kiev, Ukraine, where she founded a women’s magazine. Before writing the novel, she worked as a freelance journalist in Germany, writing for magazines and others for women like Stern.
She published her debut novel, “My Russian Mother-of Law and Other Disasts,” in 2012, selling over 50,000 copies. In 2014, she traveled with the Russians and then published her crime novel “People Always Die” in 2016. Her last novel was named Dirty Hands in 2019.
Ms. Frorich was survived by three sons.
