President Donald Trump is expected to sign an executive order (EO) directing compilation of a list of states and jurisdictions that interfere with federal immigration laws.
White House Press Director Karoline Leavitt detailed that Trump is due to sign Monday.
“Late this afternoon, President Trump will sign an executive order on law and order and another executive order on sanctuary cities. The first EO will strengthen and unleash American law enforcement in pursuit of criminals and protect innocent citizens,” she said.
“The second EO is centered around protecting American communities from criminal aliens and directs the Homeland Security Attorney General and the Homeland Security Secretary to publish a list of state and local jurisdictions that interfere with enforcement of federal immigration laws,” she added.
When asked about future trips to Rochester, New York, facing federal lawsuits over Sanctuary city policies, Homan said local government and state officials should not want to “roam the community through public safety threats.”
“I don’t think an elected mayor or elected governor should want a threat to public safety… walking through the community,” he said.
Breitbart News reported Monday that Trump is planning to sign an executive order aimed at ensuring that American truckers and others who run commercial vehicles are well-versed in speaking English.
“Look! Today @potus And we’re making big announcements to make our roads safer and put American truck drivers first,” Transport Secretary Sean Duffy wrote in X’s post, sharing the headline for Breitbart News.
During the briefing, Leavitt highlighted that Trump has signed more than 140 executive orders since taking office by the end of Monday. The output of Trump’s executive orders is, by Leebit, close to the total number of orders signed by the entire Biden administration.
