WASHINGTON – President Trump's top policy advisor Stephen Miller said Thursday that Americans should be more willing to pay for toys made in the United States rather than China.
“I think he's got almost every American consumer agree,” Miller told the White House briefing when asked about Trump's comments at a cabinet meeting.
“If they could choose between dolls from China, for example, they might have lead the paint, it's not well built like dolls made in the USA, with higher environmental and regulatory standards and made of higher quality – and those two products [are] Both are Amazon, and yes, you're probably willing to pay more for better American products,” Miller said.
“But here's the key point: tax cuts, regulatory cuts, lower energy prices and everything else President Trump is doing to unleash this era of America's prosperity and prevent the path we were going means going down the path of financial ruin and destiny.

Trump on Wednesday hoped that the Chinese president and Xi would soon talk about lowering import tariffs, but insisted that much of what Beijing will produce is “not necessary.”
“You know, someone said, 'Oh, the shelves will be empty.' Well, maybe the kids have two dolls instead of 30, and maybe two dolls would cost them a few dollars than normal,” the president said.
