In her first television interview following legal challenges with former co-star Justin Bardoni, Blake Lively has finally addressed the situation.
Lively made an appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” on Thursday, where she discussed her upcoming film, “One Simple Favor.” Their chat ran the gamut from lighthearted topics to the serious matter of Bardoni’s lawsuit.
After sharing some insights about her children—three daughters and a son with husband Ryan Reynolds—she remarked, “I’ve had a pretty intense year, and you know, they’re my lifeline.” Her comments hinted at the challenges she’s been facing.
Myers, a former “Saturday Night Live” cast member, touched on her “intense year,” acknowledging how tricky it can be to navigate conversations about personal matters. He said, “I probably should have asked you about it, or maybe you just feel like you can’t say much.”
Lively responded thoughtfully, saying, “What I can say without getting too detailed is that this year brought some of the highest highs and the lowest lows of my life. I think many women shy away from sharing their experiences, especially these days.” She expressed a sense of gratitude for having the platform to speak and mentioned how other women have inspired her to remain strong and safe for others.
She added, “It’s really easy, but… you know, nothing…” as the audience began to applaud, leaving that thought hanging in the air.
The conversation then shifted as Myers acknowledged she couldn’t delve into specifics, steering the chat toward lighter topics.
To give some context, Lively and Bardoni starred together in “It Ends with Us,” which premiered in August 2024. After a promotional tour sparked rumors of behind-the-scenes tension, Lively formally lodged a complaint with the California Labor Rights division, alleging sexual harassment, retaliation, and emotional distress, among other things. She later escalated the matter to federal court, officially filing a lawsuit against Bardoni on December 31, 2024.
That same day, Bardoni countered by suing the New York Times for $250 million over a December article he claimed was part of a smear campaign against him and his co-stars. Shortly after, he filed another $400 million lawsuit against Lively and Reynolds, accusing the couple of attempting to twist the narrative surrounding him.
At this point, the trial is set for March 2026.
