The Post’s predictions for the Knicks-Celtics Eastern Conference semifinals

This is a forecast for the upcoming Knicks vs. Pistons Eastern Conference Semi-Final Series.

Stephen Bondy

The Celtics are simply too formidable, too well-rounded, and skilled in exploiting mismatches against the Knicks. New York’s best chance lies in hoping Boston experiences a significant shooting slump. But I wouldn’t count on that happening.

prediction: Celtics in 5

Peter Bott

The Knicks revamped their roster with the Celtics in mind, yet the disparity was evident during their regular season matches. Even though Jalen Brunson and the Knicks managed to take down the Pistons, facing the defending champions is a different challenge altogether, and they’re fully prepared for another title run.

prediction: Celtics in 5

Zach Braziler

The Knicks had the fortune of advancing past a rookie-laden Pistons team. However, they are significantly outmatched by the Celtics. Unless something drastic happens, like major injuries on Boston’s side, this series isn’t likely to drag out.

prediction: Celtics in 5

Brian Lewis

The Knicks will struggle against Jason Tatum and Jalen Brown, compounded by Tom Thibodeau’s reluctance to tap into his bench. Brunson has been carrying the team despite his injuries, and while players like Josh Hart, Mikal Bridges, and OG Anunoby have been effective, they just won’t hold up against such a strong opponent. They took down Detroit with ease, but the Celtics will be a different story.

prediction: Celtics in 6

Jared Schwartz

The Knicks will likely adapt and put up a stronger fight than during the regular season. Yet, if there’s too much dependence on Brunson and things go awry, overcoming a defensively tenacious team like the Celtics will be challenging. The depth of Boston’s bench, especially Payton Pritchard, makes a big impact.

prediction: Celtics in 6

Mike Vaccaro

The Knicks have made claims that they’re a better team than the outcomes indicate from their games against the Celtics this year. Now, they have a chance to prove it. That would indeed be quite a narrative. But I wouldn’t hold my breath.
