CBS News’ 60 Minutes presents Democratic election lawyer Mark Elias as a victim of President Donald Trump’s retribution against his law firm.
Scott Perry from CBS depicted Elias as a hero. He highlighted Elias as the only attorney willing to challenge Trump’s executive actions that threatened major law firms.

However, Perry did not mention that Elias was a key figure behind the 2016 Democratic “Russian Conspiracy” narrative and led efforts to alter election laws in 2020. His past involves a range of questionable political tactics.
Perry also noted that the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit has recognized unethical behavior on Elias’ part, yet he was portrayed as a mere victim, a symbol of the “justice system.”
Interestingly, CBS News didn’t express the same concern when Elias’ Democratic supporters were targeting Trump’s legal team with threats and baseless complaints.
Perry also overlooked the opportunity to interview a lawyer supportive of Trump.
