The podcast on the Zelenskyy-Trump agreement | Ukraine

Following a tense meeting in February between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office, the prospects for a deal between the US and Ukraine appeared unclear.

“Every week, it feels like I’m hearing new stances from Donald Trump,” noted Andrew Ross, a Global Affairs correspondent in Washington, DC. “Sometimes, I even get several updates in a single morning. Honestly, it seemed unlikely until both names were actually signed.”

Despite the uncertainty, an agreement was reached last week. The two countries decided to share future profits from Ukraine’s mineral industry on a 50/50 basis, along with establishing a significant mineral trade.

“We might discuss natural gas and oil, but we’re really focusing on critical earth minerals. These include lithium, graphite, and titanium—rare but essential minerals utilized across various industries globally,” Ross highlighted.

Is this US economic interest in Ukraine bringing the nation closer to peace?
