After two years since an infant’s body was discovered in a concealed dresser within an abandoned Indiana home, the child’s mother has admitted guilt on two charges. Madison Marshall entered a guilty plea for one count of child neglect that led to her child’s death, and an additional count of dependent neglect.
Reports indicate that Marshall faces a potential sentence of up to 25 years for neglecting her dependents and two years for general neglect. If she complies with the terms of her plea deal with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, she could serve both sentences concurrently.
Part of the agreement includes her obligation to testify against her ex-boyfriend, Lone Waters, who is charged with killing her one-year-old daughter, Oakley Snow, in 2023. Marshall previously stated that Waters, not the child’s father, was involved in her daughter’s death and had prevented her from calling 911 for help.
Court documents disclose that Marshall, while in the kitchen, heard her daughter screaming moments before hearing her call out for her. Upon reaching the room, she found Waters holding Oakley, who appeared unresponsive. Marshall recounted efforts to revive Oakley with cold water but received no reaction, and when she attempted to call 911, Waters forcibly took the phone from her.
According to documents, Waters allegedly wrapped Oakley’s body in a blanket and placed it in his SUV before transporting it to an abandoned house where Marshall concealed it in a drawer.
The plea agreement stipulates that Madison Marshall must provide “complete and true testimony at trial on behalf of the state against co-defendant Lone Waters.” Should prosecutors nullify the agreement or if she fails to testify, she could face trial for the primary charge.
