Michelle Obama, the former first lady, has shared that she’s currently undergoing treatment to help with her transition into the next phase of her life. This comes as she continues to address speculation about her marriage to Barack, insisting they aren’t headed for divorce.
“Am I going through treatment because I’m in a transitional phase of my life? Yes,” she recently mentioned on the Jay Shetty Podcast.
At 61, she reflected on finishing a challenging chapter concerning her family and described herself as a “nester of the sky,” with her daughter being a significant part of her life.
Michelle acknowledged the presence of “other voices” and “new friends” in her life, which assist her in navigating life beyond the public eye. She believes that this phase is crucial for her growth and recognizes that she now has the wisdom to understand her journey.
She also noted that her therapy sessions are instrumental in helping her develop new habits and release past guilt.
In her recent media appearances alongside her brother Craig Robinson, she has been consistently addressing rumors regarding her marriage, particularly after she chose to miss several high-profile events, including Trump’s inauguration.
Michelle expressed that if there were issues in her marriage, they wouldn’t be a secret. She told entrepreneur Stephen Bartlett, “Everyone would know about it.” She humorously added that people often ask her, “What did he do?”
While she acknowledged that marriage can be challenging for them, she affirmed, “We wouldn’t trade it for anything.” She described the strength of their partnership, stating that neither of them tries to change what is inherently a part of their relationship.
