Ex-Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio claims he met with Trump.

Former Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio says he met with Trump

Enrique Talio, a well-known figure from his teenage years, reported that he met President Trump this past weekend at Mar-a-Lago in Florida.

Talio, who was recently released from prison following a one-day pardon by Trump related to the Capitol Riot on January 6, 2021, shared the details of their meeting on social media on Sunday.

“I was honored to meet the President of the United States yesterday, a moment I couldn’t have imagined on my darkest day,” Talio expressed in his post.

In a follow-up post, he referenced a New York Times article covering their meeting, which included a remark from Talio stating he saved his life by being part of the comprehensive grant for defendants on January 6.

He had served 22 years in prison after being convicted for his role in organizing the riot, and Trump had provided him with a “complete, complete and unconditional” pardon.

Officials from the White House informed various media that while no meeting had been scheduled for Saturday night, Talio was at the resort dining with members who facilitated his introduction to Trump, as reported by the Associated Press.

According to the AP, Talio and Trump had a brief and friendly exchange while Trump was walking to his dinner table, with officials speaking on condition of anonymity about the private gathering.

Oka reached out for comments from the White House.
