This certainly adds to the chatter about the situation in Miami.
Tyreek Hill, the star wide receiver for the Dolphins, stirred up some talk this week by listing his top five quarterbacks—but he didn’t include Tua Tagovailoa, his own teammate.
In response to fans asking for his favorite QB, Hill specified Lamar Jackson of the Ravens, Josh Allen from the Bills, Baker Mayfield of the Buccaneers, Joe Burrow with the Bengals, and, of course, his former teammate, Patrick Mahomes, in that order. The clip has been making the rounds lately.
Interestingly, Tagovailoa wasn’t mentioned, especially since he was part of Hill’s earlier rankings from last summer.
Allen and Burrow are new additions to Hill’s 2025 list, taking spots previously held by Tagovailoa and Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.
It’s worth noting that Tagovailoa missed several games last season due to concussions and a hip injury, which might have influenced Hill’s latest assessment, following a disappointing 8-9 season for the Dolphins.
For the first time since 2019, Hill, who fell short of 1,000 receiving yards last season, made headlines after a loss to the Jets when he told reporters, “I’m out.”
He later tried to clarify his stance on Tagovailoa, calling him “my man.” He expressed that Tagovailoa understands the competitive drive, saying, “We all want to win. He’s a hell of a competitor, and many don’t realize that. He’s consistent and a winner—it’s our public apology tour.”
Nonetheless, questions about whether the Dolphins might trade Hill continued to arise.
“That’s not what we’re pursuing,” Dolphins general manager Chris Greer stated, reiterating his position from before the April 2025 NFL Draft.
Hill has caught passes from Tagovailoa for the past three seasons, having been acquired from the Chiefs in 2022 with a four-year, $120 million contract extension.
Last year’s playoffs marked the first time Hill was on the sidelines during postseason play.
