Karen Reed took the stand on the tenth day of her murder trial, where her boyfriend, John O’Keefe, was referenced multiple times. A voicemail she recorded while dying in a snowbank in Massachusetts was played in court.
“John, I hate you,” Reed stated in one voicemail that O’Keefe left for Boston police between 12:33 AM and 6:03 AM on January 29, 2022.
As reported by NBC Boston, she expressed, “You’re using me now.”
Under questioning, digital forensics expert Trooper Nicholas Guarino from Massachusetts police presented various voicemails and texts exchanged between Reed and O’Keefe after 12:30 AM on that January morning.
Throughout a frantic five-hour period, O’Keefe left a total of eight voicemails and made 44 calls, which painted a grim picture of the events that morning.
Guarino’s insights into the phone evidence were pivotal during the trial.
