Bank customer fatally stabbed inside Lloyds Bank branch in Derby

A bank customer was fatally attacked at a branch in Derby city center, according to Derbyshire police.

The incident occurred around 2:35 PM on Tuesday at the Lloyd’s Bank located on St. Peter Street.

Tragically, the man, who was in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have initiated a murder investigation, noting that a significant police presence will continue in the area for some time.

While the victim hasn’t been officially named, authorities indicated that his family has been informed.

Two suspects have been apprehended. One man, in his 40s, is facing murder charges, while the other, in his 30s, is suspected of aiding in a crime.

Both individuals are currently in custody.

A representative from Lloyd’s Bank expressed their support, stating they are collaborating closely with the police during this challenging time.

Detective Inspector Tony Owen, who is overseeing the investigation, remarked that fortunately, no one else was hurt. He mentioned that the investigation is still in its early phases but is considered an isolated event.

He also urged anyone feeling uneasy in the area to approach officers and requested that anyone with information about the incident come forward as soon as possible.
