Olivia Dunne’s New Chapter After Gymnastics
Olivia “Livvy” Dunne has shared some significant life updates since she stepped back from gymnastics last month.
The former LSU gymnast took to TikTok on Tuesday, announcing she has completed her first semester of graduate school and has even bought an apartment in New York City.
“It’s as sweet as cinnamon to finish my first semester of grad school, search for a beach house, buy an apartment in New York, and enjoy a Pina Colada life,” the 22-year-old said, sharing a video where she models a leopard print bikini while strolling along the beach.
“Quick Real Life Update,” was how she captioned her post.
While Dunne, hailing from New Jersey, didn’t provide much more detail, she did mention her exciting new endeavors.
She previously revealed her graduate school plans in December, but didn’t specify where she enrolled.
Dunne is currently studying technology management and shared insights during a joint interview with her boyfriend, All-Star Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes.
For her undergraduate studies, she focused on interdisciplinary studies.
She remarked that she feels a connection to Florida, the state where her grandparents reside.
Dunne rose to internet fame during the COVID-19 pandemic by sharing videos of herself doing gymnastics at the beach while visiting family.
She became one of the key figures in the era of name, image, and likeness (NIL) opportunities, emerging as the highest-earning female college athlete ever.
Since NIL regulations changed in 2021, Dunne is estimated to have earned around $9.5 million.
After clinching an NCAA title with LSU in 2023, she opted to use her fifth year of eligibility due to the pandemic.
She announced her retirement from gymnastics last month following LSU’s defeat at the NCAA Championship.
The Tigers finished third in the NCAA semi-finals, missing out on a third consecutive national championship.
Dunne previously expressed that, after leaving LSU, she wanted to concentrate on establishing her brand.
“I feel good [about Sports Illustrated],” she said, having made her debut in the 2023 edition. “I think it’s essential to build a strong brand that will carry on after graduation. SI Swim is part of that, but I wouldn’t label it a partnership since they feel more like family to me.”
Beyond her modeling career, Dunne expressed a desire to guide the next generation of female college athletes on leveraging their NIL opportunities.
“I definitely want to contribute to that [NIL] space after my time at LSU,” she stated. “I’ve always loved sports, so it will definitely be something related to sports.”
Dunne also supported Skenes, who was drafted by the Pirates and secured a $9.2 million signing bonus.
