Tom Brady and Chedure Sanders share a minor similarity: both wear the number 12.
The Browns revealed on Tuesday that Sanders will don the #12 jersey. Despite being picked in the fifth round, he boasted one of the top-selling jerseys among rookies. With this official announcement, fans purchasing these jerseys will be eager to show their support.
Sanders’ #2 jersey from Colorado has already been retired, and wide receiver Deandre Carter currently wears #2 in Cleveland. It’s unknown if Sanders attempted to buy or swap for a different number, which is something he typically tries when he prefers a specific jersey number.
“Sanders, the 144th selection in the 2025 draft, will wear a new jersey number for the first time on Friday, when the Browns kick off their three-day rookie minicamp,” reports ESPN.
Brady and Sanders were both selected later in drafts; Brady was the 199th pick in the 2000 NFL Draft. Hence, Sanders aims to mirror Brady’s journey from uncertainty to NFL success.
Is that likely to happen?
It’s uncertain, but something intriguing is unfolding.
