Cowboys are said to have made a trade for George Pickens.

The Dallas Cowboys have reportedly finalized a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers for wide receiver George Pickens on Wednesday, according to various sources.

In return, the Steelers are set to acquire a third-round pick in the 2026 draft, along with a pick swap. This trade could bolster the Cowboys’ offensive options, particularly for quarterback Dak Prescott, who now gains a new asset to alleviate some pressure on star receiver Ceedee Lamb.

As for Pickens, he’ll be in a proving year during the 2025 season. Having just one year left on his rookie contract, if he doesn’t get re-signed by the Cowboys, he’ll enter free agency as an unrestricted player.

In the previous season, Pickens recorded 59 catches for 900 yards and three touchdowns across 14 games with the Steelers. However, not all of his time with the team was smooth. He had disagreements with fans, confrontations with players from the Cleveland Browns, and earned multiple penalties that caught the attention of head coach Mike Tomlin.

After the Steelers’ playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Pickens expressed uncertainty about his future with the team.

Last season, the Cowboys ended with a 7-10 record, a tough outing exacerbated by Prescott’s mid-season injury. They ranked 17th in yards gained and 21st in points scored.

Recently, the Cowboys made a significant change in their coaching staff, parting ways with Mike McCarthy and appointing Brian Schottenheimer as the new head coach.
