Road Rage Incident Caught on Video

A viral video from Oregon reveals a troubling encounter on a busy highway Monday morning, where SUV drivers appeared to target motorcycle riders before quickly leaving the scene.

According to Beaverton police, the incident took place around 6:16 AM on the westbound lane of Highway 26, specifically between Highway 217 and Cedar Hills Boulevard. Authorities suspect that it was related to road rage involving the driver of a blue Kia Carnival and a motorcycle rider.

After speaking with various community members, investigators suggested that the Kia driver was recklessly operating the vehicle prior to the confrontation.

Reports indicate that the Kia swerved toward the motorcycle, causing the rider to lose control, while the driver of the Kia fled the scene. Authorities believe these actions were intentional and are actively searching for both the vehicle and its driver.

Arrest Made in Connection with Hit and Run

Later on the same day, police arrested a suspect linked to the hit-and-run. They took Samir Helio Paccoto Philho, a Washington County resident, into custody after receiving tips from the community.

Officers spotted Philho driving a blue Kia Carnival, the same model involved in the incident.

Fortunately, the motorcycle rider was discharged from the hospital after sustaining serious injuries.

With ongoing investigations, authorities expressed belief that Philho was driving recklessly before the incident, and they’re encouraging anyone with more information about the suspect to reach out to the Beaverton Police Department.

As of Wednesday morning, Paccoto Philho remained in the Washington County Jail, with no bail details or release date provided.
