Trump’s approval and favorability rise in polling averages

Trump approval, favorability tick up in DDHQ polling averages

Recent polls indicate that President Trump’s popularity is still facing challenges, though Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ) noted a slight improvement in his ratings this week. The average presidential approval rating from last week showed a minor gain.

As per DDHQ’s favorability tracker, Trump has been sitting at a 51.7% unfavorable rating against a 44.4% favorable one since he took office, which is a 2.9 percentage point improvement compared to the average as of April 30.

In terms of approval ratings, DDHQ’s tracker displayed a similar trend, showing an average disapproval rate of 51.2%, yielding a net negative of 6.7% compared to a 44.5% approval rating. This marks a 2.7% increase since last Wednesday.

Despite expressing concerns about polling results as he celebrated his 100th day back in office, Trump might find some solace in DDHQ’s figures, which indicate a “potential flexion point” in his ratings, according to their team.

While Trump’s overall net approval has remained steady across various demographics, there has been a noticeable uptick among women, with ratings improving by 2.2 percentage points from -22 to -19.8 since last week.
