Woman fatally shot in Texas after brushing against Mercedes

The bond request for a man accused of killing a Texas real estate agent has been denied after an incident involving his car. The suspect, Kendrick Finch, is said to have shot 28-year-old Ashley Long late at night on April 5th, shortly after she and friends left a bar in downtown Dallas.

Witnesses reported that as they walked down the street, one of Long’s companions touched Finch’s Mercedes, leading to an altercation. Finch, 34, then exited the passenger side of the vehicle and opened fire.

Unfortunately, Long was critically injured and later passed away in the hospital, while her male friend managed to survive the attack. Finch surrendered and is currently facing murder charges, along with a history of prior criminal activities, including drug-related offenses and robbery.

During a recent court hearing, after listening to testimonies from prosecutors, defense attorneys, and the lead detective, the judge opted to keep Finch’s bond unchanged, denying the request for reduction. Family members of both the victim and the defendant attended the hearing, and security footage of the incident was shown as part of the proceedings.

Henry Long, Ashley’s father, expressed his sorrow publicly, urging that Finch should remain behind bars. He emphasized that Ashley’s life was significant, and the community needed justice for her tragic loss. In his own words, “Kendrick Finch made the choice to take her life. He didn’t just end her future. He shattered the lives of everyone who loves her.”
