Singapore Advises Citizens to Steer Clear of Travel to Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan

Travel Advisory Issued by Singapore

In light of escalating tensions between neighboring countries, Singapore has urged its citizens to delay any non-essential travel to Jammu and Kashmir, as well as Pakistan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in Singapore made this announcement on Wednesday, advising travelers to be particularly cautious in border areas between India and Pakistan.

“We recommend that Singaporeans currently in India and Pakistan refrain from attending large gatherings, keep an eye on local news, heed instructions from local authorities, and stay alert, including coordinating with the MFA, while taking all necessary safety precautions,” the ministry stated.

This updated advisory builds on one released on April 30, which highlighted travel concerns for “high-risk regions” in Pakistan.

Additionally, Singaporeans in both countries are encouraged to reach out for consular assistance if needed.

As a result of the ongoing tensions, Singaporean travel agencies are reassessing their tour offerings for Jammu, Kashmir, and Pakistan.

The situation has also led to significant travel disruptions, with over 50 flights to Pakistan canceled and several Asian airlines adjusting or halting their services.
