Are you thinking of me?
Country music star Morgan Wallen was romantically linked to former NFL quarterback Tom Brady, choosing to skip the 60th Country Music Awards on Thursday evening.
Rather than attending the star-studded event in Frisco, Texas, just north of Dallas, he opted to throw football with seven Super Bowl champions on a lush green golf course, as he shared on his Instagram story.
“There was a little mustard at @tombrady,” Wallen joked, alongside a picture of them playing catch.
This image surfaced while the ACM Awards were getting underway at the Ford Center.
Wallen’s team was contacted for comments regarding his absence.
At 31, he was among the top nominees alongside artists like Ella Langley, Cody Johnson, and Rainey Wilson that night.
Nominated for categories including Entertainer of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, and Song of the Year, Wallen didn’t win any of them.
Instead, up-and-coming artists Langley and Wilson took home the most awards.
This isn’t the first time Wallen has opted out of major awards shows.
He also missed the 2025 Grammy Awards, which took place in Los Angeles on February 2. Like the ACMs, he didn’t win any Grammys that night.
The singer had also skipped the 2024 CMA Awards yet claimed the title of Entertainer of the Year, with actor Jeff Bridges accepting the award on his behalf, albeit mispronouncing his name when announcing the win.
This victory came after the CMAs had previously banned artists from attending following a controversy involving a racial slur.
Wallen found himself in the spotlight for another incident when he left the “Saturday Night Live” set abruptly at the end of March, well before the credits finished rolling. This is not the norm, as musical guests usually remain on stage for the closing moments.
He reportedly headed straight to an afterparty, sharing a photo of his private jet shortly after.
“Take me into the Kingdom of God,” he wrote in the caption of his Instagram story.
The following week, “SNL” took the opportunity to poke fun at him in two separate sketches.
