Country artist Jelly Roll shares the toughest part of his weight loss journey.

Jelly Roll Opens Up About Weight Loss Journey

Country music artist Jelly Roll is no stranger to personal challenges. Recently, the “Save Me” singer reflected on the hurdles he’s faced during his impressive weight loss journey, shedding nearly 200 pounds.

“Food, man,” Jelly Roll shared during a conversation at the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards. For him, the struggle isn’t just physical; it’s deeply tied to his relationship with food.

He emphasized, “If you’re really fighting obesity, you have to start at the dinner table. Sure, exercising is important, but tackling that addiction at the dinner table is crucial.” It’s a compelling reminder of where the real battle lies.

Jelly Roll revealed that his fight against food addiction has reshaped his view on nourishment over the past few decades. “It’s been a journey. I didn’t have a healthy relationship with food, but embracing discipline transformed everything,” he noted. It’s interesting how he likened this challenge to overcoming drug addiction, a testament to the depth of his struggle.

Later, he recalled a significant milestone in his journey. “We just passed the halfway point on the tour,” his trainer mentioned, noting the artist’s progress in activities like basketball and boxing, all while achieving a weight loss of over 100 pounds.

During the ACM Awards, Jelly Roll also expressed gratitude for the relationships he’s built within the country music community. “I mean, walking the carpet, I see so many faces. It’s overwhelming, let’s be real,” he admitted. The relationships and support within the genre have changed his life in profound ways.

He reflected on personal interactions, such as last year when he and fellow artist Jason Aldean almost became friends, sharing late-night conversations during the ACM events.

This year’s 60th Annual Awards Show took place live at the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas. Jelly Roll and his wife, Bunny XO, posed for photos on the red carpet. He donned a stylish Western suit, while Bunny looked stunning in a lace floor-length gown.

Jelly Roll is up for several accolades, including Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year, and Male Artist of the Year at this year’s ACM Awards. It’s quite a moment for him, highlighting both his personal growth and professional achievements.
