Host urges Democrats to confront issues with Biden directly.

Jon Favreau, host of “Pod Save America,” has advised prospective Democratic presidential candidates for 2028 to avoid hesitant approaches, suggesting they should “rip the f— ing band-aid off.”

During a podcast episode, he argued against President Biden running for a second term and suggested he should resign earlier amidst discussions about his future, urging his close advisers not to encourage him to run again.

Favreau highlighted this point while discussing Biden’s recent appearance on ABC’s “The View.”

On the show, Biden refuted claims that he advised former Vice President Harris, a 2024 candidate, to maintain a position of limited transparency. “I didn’t advise her on that,” he clarified during his first major U.S. television interview since Trump’s presidency began. This followed his earlier conversation with the BBC, marking his second interview since attending a public engagement.

Biden acknowledged feeling partly responsible for Trump’s victory but stood by his choice not to withdraw from the race earlier.

Some within the Democratic Party have expressed frustration with Biden, claiming he is hindering the party’s recovery following losses in the 2024 election. Others believe the former president needs to be held accountable for his actions, asserting that his decisions contributed to the party’s struggles.

“I don’t think he recognizes that he shouldn’t run again,” remarked a Democratic strategist, questioning why Biden can’t admit that some of the blame lies with him.
