Pakistan Commits to an Immediate Ceasefire, According to Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar

New Delhi:

Just moments after Donald Trump announced an immediate ceasefire between India and Pakistan, Pakistan’s foreign minister took to social media to express Islamabad’s agreement to the terms.

In his post, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar stated, “Pakistan and India have immediately agreed to a ceasefire. Pakistan has always worked toward peace and security in the region while respecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity!”

On his own social platform, President Trump remarked, “I’m pleased to announce that after extensive negotiations, India and Pakistan have agreed to a complete and immediate ceasefire. Congratulations to both nations,” indicating that this decision reflects “common sense and great intelligence.”

The Indian Foreign Secretary also confirmed the ceasefire during a brief press briefing, noting that the Pakistan Military Operations Director contacted India’s counterpart at 3:35 PM today.

While advocating a strong stance against terrorism, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar emphasized, “India has consistently upheld a firm and unwavering position against all forms of terrorism.” Regarding the ceasefire, he remarked, “India and Pakistan today have shown a mutual understanding in stopping military action.”

Following a recent escalation, including nightly drone incursions, India’s air defense systems managed to intercept most threats successfully. These Pakistani maneuvers included heavy artillery and machine gun fire aimed at both civilians and military targets in India.

In retaliation, India responded with precise strikes on Pakistani military facilities, ensuring that no civilian areas were harmed. India’s actions resulted in notable damage to several key Pakistani air bases, including the destruction of air defense sites in Lahore as well as other posts along the border.

India confidently countered Pakistan’s misleading narratives with photo and video evidence showing damage to military infrastructure and terrorist camps in Pakistan.

While military operations are currently on hold, India’s stance on diplomatic repercussions against Pakistan continues to be firm.
