Box Office Update: “Thunderbolts” Takes the Lead
The Marvel film “Thunderbolts” continues to dominate the box office. On its second Friday in theaters, it pulled in $9 million, maintaining its position at number one, according to industry reports.
This Mother’s Day weekend, it’s projected to earn around $35 million.
In second place is “Sinner,” which raked in $6.5 million. The horror film, featuring Michael B. Jordan, is on track to achieve a total global take of $330 million, potentially becoming the highest-grossing original horror film since 2018’s “A Quiet Place,” as reported.
Meanwhile, the “Minecraft Movie” landed in third place with earnings of $1.9 million. This animated feature is based on the widely popular video game.
Fantasy Adventure Comedy is also expected to reach $900 million in global revenue as of Saturday.
Fourth place was claimed by “The Accountant 2,” which made just over $1.674 million.
Finally, “Till Dawn,” another horror flick, rounded out the top five with sales of $580,000.
