According to police sources, a man named Angel Ramos, 23, is accused of repeatedly assaulting a 14-year-old girl he encountered at a church in East Elmhurst. The alleged incidents reportedly took place at the Virgin of the Fatima Roman Catholic Church.
Ramos was taken into custody on May 2. The victim reported that the assaults began on April 16, with claims that she was attacked at least four times in the weeks leading up to her report, made on April 25.
In addition to the rape charges, Ramos is facing counts of aggravated sexual abuse, emotional distress, and endangering a child’s welfare.
During his arraignment on May 4, he was released after posting $50,000 bail as ordered by a judge. Court records reflect this arrangement.
