During a recent appearance, Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH) expressed optimism about President Donald Trump’s proposed “big, beautiful bill,” asserting that “failure is not an option.” He emphasized that Republicans are unified in support of this agenda.
When asked about Congressional efforts to advance some of Trump’s initiatives, including the extension of the 2017 tax cuts, Moreno remained hopeful, stating, “We can’t fail. …Failure means the largest $4 trillion tax increase in American history when voters are already burdened with high costs. It’s crucial that we make this tax reform permanent.”
Moreno anticipated a shift in momentum, noting, “Next year, we’ll have a new head at the Federal Reserve appointed by President Trump, and we’ll reduce interest rates then.”
“I believe we will see some positive momentum,” he added.
Acknowledging the frustrations many Americans feel toward the perceived lack of unity among Republicans, Moreno assured that the GOP stands united behind the scenes.
“Some couples need to communicate a bit more than others, but overall, failure is not an option for us, and I’m confident we won’t fail,” the senator remarked.
“I think this bill truly deserves the title of a legally large and beautiful bill. Let the Democrats explain their objections to it. They’ve indicated that we’re reducing the inflation reduction law,” he stated.
