Military Humvee Crashes Off Interstate 90 in Bellevue

A military Humvee towing a trailer crashed into a retaining wall on Interstate 90 in Bellevue, Washington, landing on the street below. This incident occurred on Saturday, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The vehicle was headed east on I-90, near Eastgate, when it mysteriously drifted to the right, leaving the highway. It rolled over the grassy shoulder, falling about 30 feet onto Southeast 38th Avenue, as explained by Trooper Rick Johnson.

“The trailer just, well, it drifted east on the interstate for reasons we’re still trying to figure out,” Johnson mentioned. “It veered off the road, crossed over the wall, and ended up on the street beneath.”

Two individuals inside the Humvee sustained minor injuries and were transported to the hospital. Thankfully, no other vehicles were involved in this incident.

While Johnson couldn’t specify which hospitals, he suggested they likely ended up at Overlake Medical Center, the closest major facility in the area.

“The sergeant said the injuries were minor, but… the fire department always recommends a check-up,” he noted.

This military convoy was reportedly en route to the Yakima Training Center, a common destination accessed via I-90. Johnson added that the Humvee sustained significant damage.

No video evidence or dashcam footage has been reported to the agency at this point, and an investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
