Another group of Big Lots stores that had previously closed due to Chapter 11 bankruptcy is set to reopen this week. This is the third round of reopenings this year. Back in April, nine locations resumed operations after a deal with Gordon Brothers Retail Partners, which agreed to acquire a large number of Big Lots stores that retained their branding.
Then, in early May, nearly 60 more locations opened again. This Thursday, over sixty additional stores will welcome customers once more.
“Big Lots!” as it’s known, emphasizes its commitment to offering a wide variety of well-known brands alongside essential items for families, from apparel to home goods. The team behind these stores is proud to be serving their communities once again.

Grand reopening events are in the works for the fall. The company has indicated that more stores may also open in June. Several former Big Lots locations have transitioned to other retailers, such as Ocean State Job Lot and Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, though it remains unclear when those will launch. In some areas, like Denver, a former Big Lots space is slated to become a new pickleball facility by year’s end.
