Christopher Schwarzenegger has undergone a significant weight loss journey, which he discussed during the inaugural Beecher Vitality event in Los Angeles this past Saturday. The 27-year-old son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver candidly shared insights about his fitness path over the last six years.
“It was a huge process,” he remarked while participating in a panel alongside Kelly Osborne and event host Jeff Beecher. He reflected on how his journey began in 2019 while he was in Australia, saying, “I was on this big trip, and I thought, ‘Yeah, I’m going to experience everything,’ but I realized my weight was limiting my ability to do everyday things.”
Christopher humorously recalled wanting to try skydiving but was confronted with the reality of his weight. He mentioned a conversation with a friend, highlighting that he could not participate due to his size.
More recently, he made a significant change during Lent, giving up bread, which contributed to him shedding 30 pounds in just two months. “I don’t know if anyone else has done this,” he said, “but I gave up bread for Lent, and I decided I was really going to stick to it.” He added, “That was my rule: I was serious about not breaking it.”
Although he’s made noteworthy progress, Schwarzenegger indicated he still feels there’s more to accomplish. “It wasn’t an overnight transformation. It took a lot of trial and error,” he shared during the panel discussion. “Even now, when I see before-and-after photos, I still don’t feel like I’ve completely reached my goal yet.”
He rarely makes public appearances but has been seen recently at family gatherings and a red carpet event. He first drew attention for his weight loss in 2021 during an outing with his mother in New York City.
