Pablo Torre thinks there’s a possibility that Bill Belichick may never coach the North Carolina soccer team.
On “The Domonique Foxworth Show,” Torre discussed Belichick’s situation, particularly focusing on the much-talked-about relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson. This all ties into the media frenzy leading up to their season opener on September 1st.
“The reason I mention this is that things have been quite chaotic for a while, even before Jordon Hudson entered the picture,” Torre noted, referring to the troubled dynamics surrounding the team. He also pointed out that a clause related to Belichick’s potential acquisition by UNC had dropped significantly from $10 million to $1 million.
“The big question is how Belichick handles the dysfunction behind the scenes—it’s messy, particularly without Jordon around. He needs to adjust, and it kind of feels like everybody’s waiting to see what happens next,” Torre added.
He also mentioned that there are numerous perspectives at play, including those of Belichick’s family and the school community. “As this attention grows, it’s hard to predict how things will unfold.”
Belichick, who is 73, signed a five-year, $50 million deal with UNC earlier this year shortly after being named head coach. Rumors at the time suggested that the delayed signing might be linked to his possible return to the NFL.
Both Belichick and Hudson, who were former college cheerleaders, appeared committed to the Tar Heels despite speculation. Torre brought up how Hudson had been active on social media, sharing moments since January.
In April, Belichick made an appearance on “CBS Sunday Morning,” where an awkward moment occurred when Hudson sidestepped inquiries about their relationship.
“We’re not discussing this,” Hudson said, sharing that they met on a flight back in 2021 but only publicly confirmed their relationship three years later. This incident drew even more attention to their romance and Belichick’s role in it.
Torre mentioned that he spoke with 11 people who had insights on Hudson but claimed that Hudson had since distanced herself from the soccer program.
“While Jordon Hudson is not affiliated with the University or Carolina Athletics, she remains connected with Carolina soccer facilities. She will still manage activities related to Belichick’s personal brands but outside of university responsibilities,” he reported.
A source from the Belichick family shared that he supported Hudson at a Miss Maine USA pageant over the weekend, where she placed third.
This season, the Tar Heels are set to face TCU in their home opener.
