Alpine Prepares for Emilia Romagna Grand Prix
After a challenging week, Alpine is set to return to racing.
The team has fresh drivers in their lineup.
Following the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, Alpine has accepted the resignation of Team Principal Oliver Oaks. Flavio Bliertore, an executive advisor, will step into the role, and Franco Cora Pinto will replace Jacques Doohan as the driver.
As they gear up for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, both Corapinto and teammate Pierre Guthrie are eager to hit the track, with Corapinto expressing his excitement about competing again.
“It’s really thrilling to be in Race Week for the first time since December,” Corapinto said during a media preview for the team. “I’m very thankful for this opportunity. Now, it’s my chance to show what I can do with the car.”
Italian tracks hold a special place for Corapinto. He made his Formula 1 debut in Italy last year and secured wins at both Monza and Imola, including a victory in the F2 sprint race at Imola.
“Italy feels uniquely significant for me. It’s where I started my Formula One journey last year at Monza,” Corapinto noted. “Now, heading to Imola for my first race with Alpine excites me. I have fond memories of earning my first Italian win in Formula Lanno in Monza back in 2020, as well as my initial victories in Formula 3 and Formula 2 in Imola in 2022 and 2024.”
Looking ahead to this weekend, Corapinto hopes to quickly improve his pace as part of Alpine’s team objectives.
“I’m committed to working hard with the team to accelerate our pace and to help fulfill our ambitions throughout the weekend. The initial months driving a TPC with everyone at Enstone have been fantastic as we develop the car and simulator for 2023.”
This marks the first of five races for Corapinto in the A525. As he aims for a full-time spot on Alpine’s grid, he recognizes the importance of rapidly enhancing his performance.
