Gavin Newsom rejects using this trendy term, but CNN reveals the truth.

California Governor’s Presidential Ambitions and Challenges

California Governor Gavin Newsom appears to be aiming for more than just the usual desk in the Oval Office.

Liz Wheeler, on her show, suggested, “I would argue that Newsom’s ambitions for the presidency are even greater than Hillary Clinton’s.” But there’s a catch. His progressive policies might alienate him from a broader audience.

His recent initiatives, like establishing California as a transgender sanctuary, allow schools to change student names and pronouns without parental consent and also offer homebuyer assistance for undocumented immigrants. These steps underscore Newsom’s radical stance.

Yet, he seems aware of the hurdles. His new podcast, “This Is Gavin Newsom,” looks like an effort to reshape his image into that of a moderate. It’s not because he’s necessarily shifting toward the center, but rather to distance himself from past actions that might hinder his presidential ambitions.

Wheeler pointed out that he aims to attract right-leaning individuals to his podcast to present himself as a centrist, albeit with a particular goal in mind.

However, Wheeler seems to be on a mission to expose contradictions in Newsom’s statements. In her episode titled Newsom vs. Newsom, she showcased clips from an interview where he aligned with Charlie Kirk on the fairness of biological men competing in women’s sports. Despite being in office since 2019, Newsom has not enacted protections for female athletes against this issue, which remains permissible under state regulations.

In her latest analysis, she reiterated how Newsom misrepresents his stance.

For those who might not know, “Latinx” is a term meant to include all gender identities among people of Latin American descent, serving as an alternative to the gendered Spanish terms. Newsom, while denying using the term, has actually endorsed its use, further complicating his narrative.

As Wheeler put it, “This is a big lie,” underscoring the inconsistency between his public statements and his actions. Newsom’s history shows he has embraced these ideologies and is now working to walk them back as he seeks a broader political appeal.

For those curious about the discrepancies in his statements, Wheeler’s podcast is a helpful resource.
