Josh Buice Exits as G3 Ministries’ Pastor After Confessing to Criticizing Fellow Pastors Online

G3 Ministries Board Announcement

The board of directors of G3 Ministries, part of the US Reformed Baptist Department, shared on Monday that they have established the G3 and removed Josh Buice, the pastor of Pray Mills Baptist Church (PMBC). The PMBC elders have used various anonymous social media accounts to uncover what they call “unrefuted evidence” of Buice’s online slander against pastors and church leaders.

“Recently, PMBC elders found undeniable proof that Dr. Buice operated at least four anonymous social media accounts, along with two untraceable email addresses and two Substack pages over the last three years,” a statement indicated, which is set to be released on Monday.

These accounts were purportedly used by Buice to anonymously disparage numerous Christian leaders, including some speakers at the G3 conference, various PMBC elders, and others. Such actions not only appear sinful but have also resulted in significant division and unnecessary doubts within PMBC, particularly among the congregation.

Even though Buice was questioned “multiple times over the past two years” about these accounts, he consistently denied any involvement. However, he ultimately acknowledged his actions against the PMBC elders after comprehensive evidence linking him to the accounts surfaced on Sunday, May 4, 2025.

“Following this, Josh admitted his guilt, expressed remorse, and sought forgiveness. He wishes to personally apologize to all those he wronged,” the statement noted.

Buice mentioned to the elders that he feels “disqualified” from his role as PMBC elder but hoped that his misdeeds wouldn’t permanently disqualify him. The ministry asserted that Buice acted independently of any G3 employees or board members in this matter.

Despite his removal, Buice’s content will still be available on the G3 website and G3+. Concurrently, this year’s G3 National Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, has been canceled, along with all workshops scheduled for 2025.

“All subscribers, exhibitors, and publishers will receive full refunds of their registration fees. We will continue with G3+, G3 Press, student retreats, and other media initiatives, emphasizing the need to support the church while steering clear of the harmful celebrity culture in modern evangelicalism,” the statement elaborated.

Buice has resigned as chairman of the G3 ministry after urging board members to step down last Thursday (May 8). Additionally, PMBC elders have requested that he take “an indefinite leave” from the church until a clearer plan is developed.

“The elders commit to guiding Josh through a prolonged process of biblical counseling and correction, aiming for genuine repentance,” the statement continued.

In a similar vein, a statement from PMBC called for prayers for Buice, his family, and for his repentance. The G3 also called for ongoing prayer and support to further their mission of educating and equipping local churches with sound biblical teachings.

“We regret the harm inflicted on Christ’s body and the faithful pastor. We reaffirm our commitment to transparency, love, and unity as we work to strengthen the Church of Christ,” they added.

Several members of the G3 board expressed their disappointment on social media following the announcement.

“I can’t convey how saddened I am by this. Please pray for the G3 ministries, especially Pray’s Mill Baptist Church,” remarked Scott Anoyle, Executive Vice President and Editor-in-Chief of G3.

Virgil Walker, Vice President of Ministries at G3, shared, “As you can imagine, we are deeply heartbroken by this news. Please keep the G3 ministry and our team in your prayers.”

Pastor Tom Buck, a G3 board member, described the past week as “one of the most painful and difficult times in my entire ministry.” He expressed gratitude for the loyalty of the board members and their commitment to transparency amid the emotional turmoil.
