Karmelo Anthony to Graduate from High School Despite Murder Charge

A teenager in Frisco, Texas, who is accused of murdering a student athlete, will reportedly still be allowed to graduate high school.

It has been reported that Karmelo Anthony, a high school student, can graduate on Tuesday.

The Frisco Independent School District has decided to permit the 17-year-old Anthony to graduate from Centennial High School despite facing first-degree murder charges. This was confirmed to Dailymail.com by his advisor, Dominique Alexander.

The incident occurred during a track meet in April, with the victim identified as Austin Metcalf, a standout athlete from Memorial High School. The boys were in the stands when a disagreement broke out involving Anthony, who was allegedly sitting in the wrong seat. Following this, Anthony reportedly stabbed Metcalf in the chest with a knife.

After the stabbing, Metcalf’s twin brother, Hunter, attempted to stop the bleeding. He recalled, “I looked at my brother and I won’t talk about the rest. I tried to help him.”

Their father, Jeff Metcalf, rushed to the scene after Hunter called to inform their parents about what had happened. He said, “I could see all the blood and saw where the wounds were, so we prayed because I had to find his brother.”

When officers at the scene referred to Anthony as a suspect, he responded, “I’m not complaining. I did that.”

According to a report, Anthony’s representative stated that they had agreed to allow him to graduate.

In late April, Anthony’s representative mentioned that he had to relocate to a “non-public location” due to receiving death threats and harassment. The situation became even more controversial last week when a judge lowered Anthony’s bail from $1 million to $250,000. Reports have surfaced alleging that the Anthony family has used this situation to heavily promote a fundraising campaign for expensive new homes, which they deny.
