Halle Berry Weighs in on Female James Bond Discussion
Halle Berry has made her stance clear regarding the idea of a female James Bond, and it’s not what some might expect. At a press conference during the Cannes Film Festival, she stated that she doesn’t support the notion of reimagining the iconic character as a woman. When asked if she would be interested in a spinoff featuring Jinx or take on the role herself, she replied, “I don’t know if 007 should really be a woman.”
Berry elaborated a bit more on her feelings, saying, “It’s nice to say in 2025, ‘Oh, he should be a woman,’ but I’m not sure that’s the right approach.” She reflected on the ongoing conversation, indicating that there might have been a time when this idea gained traction, but now she believes that moment has passed.
“No, I don’t think there’s a Jinx spinoff coming. It could’ve happened, and I would have loved to see it, but I think that opportunity is gone,” she added.
The debate about who will take on the James Bond role next continues to stir interest. On the same day Berry voiced her opinion, reports came out suggesting that “Saltburn” star Jacob Elordi might be a front-runner for the 007 role. As it stands, the future of the iconic character remains uncertain—though it seems if Berry has any say, the next Bond will definitely be a male actor.
