If your bingo card for this week’s 2025 PGA Championship has mentions of the Kardashians and Jenners, you’re in luck.
American golfer Hunter Mahan can check off the box next to the free space regarding Quail Hollow, the site of this year’s second major championship, starting Thursday in Charlotte.
“I think Quail Hollow is like Kardashian,” Mahan reportedly said, as covered by Athletic. “It’s very modern, beautiful, and well-kept. But it lacks soul or character.”
The Kardashian family, often considered the first family of reality TV, rose to fame in 2007 with “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” spanning 20 seasons.
This family—comprising Kris Jenner and her children Kim, Kourtney, Khloe Kardashian, Kylie, and Kendall Jenner—has also starred in “The Kardashians,” a series reminiscent of their earlier show.
The Kardashian-Jenners continue to dominate pop culture, notably with Kylie’s relationship with Knicks superfan Timothée Chalamet, which captured attention during the team’s recent playoff game.
It’s uncertain whether “The Kardashians” have played any part in the pre-tournament buzz, but top competitors like Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, and PGA champion Xander Schauffele were seen practicing at Fay Hollow ahead of Thursday’s first round.
McIlroy, now 36, recently completed a career grand slam after winning his first Masters in April.
His last victory at the PGA Championship was in 2014 at Valhalla, where Schauffele, at 31, claimed the Wanamaker Trophy last May.
Meanwhile, two-time Masters champion Scheffler, aged 28, finished in eighth place at the 2024 PGA Championship. Quail Hollow has also hosted notable events like the 2022 Presidents Cup and the 2017 PGA Championship.
