Bernie Sanders Criticizes U.S. Role in Gaza Crisis
On MSNBC Wednesday, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) stated that the United States is complicit in the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.
During the segment, host Chris Hayes highlighted concerns regarding widespread starvation in Gaza, noting that the Israeli military’s blockade aims to exert pressure on Hamas. A recent report from The New York Times suggested that Israeli officials are tightening this blockade, complicating efforts to deliver aid and food.
Sanders expressed frustration, saying, “Is the U.S. doing enough? We’ve given billions to Netanyahu’s military efforts, which have led to this terrible humanitarian disaster.”
He further emphasized the gravity of the situation, mentioning that over 50,000 lives have been lost and many individuals are suffering from severe malnutrition. “Children are at risk of starving and dying,” he warned. “This is all supported by U.S. military aid to Netanyahu.” He noted that he is trying to halt this military support while grappling with the current crisis.
