South Africa Commits to Combat ‘Treasonous Act of Misinformation’ as Afrikaner Refugees Arrive in the U.S.

The South African presidential office pledged to combat “false information” on Wednesday.

This statement followed closely after a first charter flight carrying numerous African refugees landed in the United States on Tuesday. President Cyril Ramaphosa referred to the refugees as “co-sick” for “running away.” The ANC criticized these individuals for abandoning the country’s “transformation” agenda, aimed at racial economic redistribution, while contending that they weren’t facing persecution.

President Kumbjo Nutshaveni, representing Ramaphosa, addressed the state legislature, one of South Africa’s two main legislative bodies, to respond to queries from parliament.

She mentioned that the Intelligence Reporting Agency and the State Security Agency (SSA) are dedicated to monitoring “disinformation campaigns, foreign interference, and aggressive actions.” It has been reported.

Daily Maverick noted:

South Africans visiting the United States shared perspectives on issues such as farm murders. Among them was a member of the Afrikaner Interest Group, Afriforum.

“The National Security Agency is cautious about the effects of disinformation campaigns, cyber activities, and ideologies that could undermine public trust in democratic systems.”

Nutshaveni later stated, “law enforcement is probing unpleasant actions linked to misinformation.”

She confirmed that the police are looking into “treason connected to the spread of misinformation.”

When Breitbart News reported in March that the South African government had initiated a “treason” case against a group, there was a miscommunication from the government, asserting that it was not an official probe.

The South African administration stood firmly behind Nutshaveni’s remarks, as she shared on X.

In response to a parliamentary statement, Afriform CEO Curry Kriel commented that the South African government appears to be resorting to undemocratic measures to stifle dissent, reminiscent of an oppressive regime. He also tagged U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

The South African government, alongside media supportive of it, has countered President Donald Trump’s statements about “genocide” claims against white South Africans, asserting these allegations are propagated by racist individuals both locally and in the U.S., reaching those within Trump’s sphere of influence.

Nevertheless, as Breitbart News observed, while the “genocide” assertion might be considered premature, there remains significant inflammatory rhetoric toward Africans and concerns over racially biased policies and appropriations.
