UAE leader presents Trump with the prestigious Order of Zayed during his visit.

On Thursday, the leader of the UAE presented Donald Trump with the country’s highest civilian award.

According to a statement, “We are pleased to share that President Donald Trump’s outstanding efforts to bolster the enduring friendship and strategic partnership between the UAE and the United States have led His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to bestow upon him the Order of Zayed.”

The UAE’s Foreign Ministry elaborated, stating that “the Zayed Order is the UAE’s most prestigious civilian honor, awarded to global leaders and heads of state.”

Furthermore, the award carries the name of the late Sheikh Zayed, the founding figure of the UAE, whose legacy in humanitarianism and global cooperation still resonates today.

Trump’s visit to the UAE marks his final destination on a Middle Eastern tour—it’s especially noted since he is the first sitting U.S. president to visit in nearly 20 years, following George W. Bush’s trip in 2008.

Earlier this March, the UAE committed to a significant investment plan of $1.4 trillion aimed at advancing sectors like AI, semiconductors, energy, and American manufacturing. This includes plans to almost double U.S. aluminum production by establishing new smelters for the first time in decades.

On the eve of the president’s arrival, the State Department announced a deal to sell $1.4 billion worth of CH-47 F Chinook helicopters and F-16 parts to Abu Dhabi.
