WWE star Rhea Ripley has addressed fans who argue that female wrestlers deserve more respect while simultaneously expressing negative views about them. Ripley, a three-time WWE Women’s Champion, believes this mixed messaging complicates how toxic fans perceive female wrestlers.
She shared her thoughts on social media, highlighting the challenge of being taken seriously as a female wrestler. Over the past decade, WWE has made significant strides in promoting women’s wrestling, leading to the rise of prominent stars like Ripley, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch.
Ripley also pointed out an expanded roster of talented female wrestlers such as Iyo Sky, Bianca Belair, and Liv Morgan, who are now competing at a high level. Moreover, WWE has recently launched mid-card championships for women, including the Women’s Intercontinental Championship and the Women’s US Championship, further supporting the growth of women’s wrestling.
Despite these developments, Ripley feels that the overall perception of female wrestlers still needs to improve.
